Life is good!

I haven't had a lot to say lately, my life rolls on very predictably.  Chemo every 3 weeks, hormone shots every month, study drug for 21 days of every 28.  I got my shots today so my back side is itchy!  I pick up carpool, almost always get dinner made for the family, manage to accomplish small projects and get together with friends when I can.  Life is good! Ya know, all I ever wanted to be was a stay-at-home Mom - stage 4 cancer has given me that chance. I try to be intentional with my time and interactions with kids and Mat.  My time means more to me now than it ever has before.  I'm slowly chipping away at the Legacy projects I want to get done.  A week or two ago, I got 8 Shutterfly books in the mail.  I'm working on 2019 now, then I have a BUNCH of pictures to scan so I can finish 1994 to 2003 (pre-digital), and my personal history with a few pictures.

We've been planning out the spring and summer adventures.  I'm taking the B and McK to San Francisco over spring break.  Mat's taking his choirs there the same week, so we'll be able to overlap some activities with them which will be fun!  I'm dragging the trailer along and we'll stay in an RV park somewhere close to the city.  Hopefully I can figure out leveling and stabilizing the thing by myself!

I managed to get a campground reserved at Watchman campground at Zion NP the end of June, and another camp sight reserved at the Spruces up Big Cottonwood Canyon the first part of July, the height of wildflower season!  Reserving both in the same summer meant that I had to be right on top of when the reservations opened, they both fill up fast!  At some point this summer (just need to plan the dates), we'll go to Lake Powell for a few days too.  That's a bucket list thing for me!  Believe it or not, I've never been there, I've only seen it from the highway between Page, AZ and Kanab.

To wrap up the summer, Me and Maddie are going on a short cruise to the Caribbean with Little Pink Houses of Hope.  It's a reunion cruise, so anyone that has been on a retreat with LPHH is invited!  Our great friends, the Howe's that we met in Sedona in 2018 will be there too.  We have an ocean view room right next to Belinda and Larry (Howes), so I'm excited for that!  White sand and crystal clear turquoise water is another thing on my bucket list!  I'm due for a dose of Belinda's Mississippi accent, and her love and friendship!

Tonight we went to the Jordan River temple with friends, Tammy and Dave from Riverton. We wanted to try to get on a relatively early session before it got too busy, and then go eat afterward. The men took too long getting dressed so we missed the session we planned on.  But it was meant to be! There was a woman in our session wearing a white beanie.  I knew what that meant, and I had to talk to her!  Her name is Cheryl, early 40's, invasive ductal carcinoma, she had just finished her last treatment this week.  Her hair was gone, her eyebrows and eyelashes sparse.  We talked for several minutes sharing our stories with each other, then I gave her a hug and we parted ways.  I think she needed that tonight and I'm grateful our paths crossed and I could talk to her and give her encouragement.
