Just thought I'd post this AWESOME video the Church put out about being grateful . . . for everything, even the crappy stuff!
I was holding it together the best I could yesterday when we arrived at church. We sat down and I looked up and saw Derek at the sacrament table with a pink ribbon pinned to his suit coat. Then the tears came and stayed for the rest of the meeting! He's the son of my friend Mary, who has done so much for me already. He's been wearing it for two weeks since he heard my news. WOW!
I've been OK today. I always wake up in the morning feeling a little overwhelmed by it all, but then I'll have half a dozen people call and offer to help with anything we need. Thanks Jessica, Karla, Paul, Alli, Theresa, Cathy, Connie and Mel--who is bringing me a present from Hawaii!! (that's just who called today) We'll get through this because of the love and concern from all of you.
By the way, I now have 7 friends running the Ogden Half Marathon with me on May 15th! I'm so excited! Thanks to Esther, Marilee, Kari, Marisa, Glenda, Colleen and Holly! Any other crazies (as Colleen calls us) out there? I'd love to have an army of pink shirts! You really can do it, I promise! Register at http://www.getoutandlive.org/. : )

I LOVED the video! What a pleasant reminder to be thankful for ALL life experiences - even failing MATH 1010 (ARRGGGHHHH)
Do I know any of the other crazies signing on for the 1/2 marathon? Is it Holly from our old ward?
Chin up!
Colleen
Ha, ha! I didn't fail Math 1010 because I didn't have to take it! : ) I got a B.A. to avoid any math classes in college. Have you gone back to school? I think that's awesome! What are you studying?
I haven't been able to recruit any crazies you would know, but I'll keep working on it!
Kim
No fair! I am just trying to get my generals - so I am a Freshman - and my major is Equine (horse) science and management. It is going to take me forever - especially if I keep doing so poorly!
Good luck in the recruiting - I have tried to get a few of my relatives to join me, but for some reason, they think it's a little kooky (the idea of me doing it ;-} ) I do not think your friends are kooky at all - in fact I love them for supporting you. I, however am excited about the prospect. I will probably be sick with nerves come May though. Ahh well.
Best wishes with your week!
Colleen
You don't have to be nervous! You are only racing against yourself, what other people do/how fast they run doesn't matter! So, just come and do the best you can and know that we'll have a big party at the end. And if you can't make it the whole way, someone will come with a stretcher to pick you up. : ) JK
Way to go on the school thing! I think it's really cool, you're going to get older whether or not you have a degree, so you might as well have a degree!!! Good luck with Math 1010!
My friend Marisa is going to walk it again this year and said she would wear a pink shirt in your honor!
That was so great! Check out PINK GLOVE DANCE on youtube. It was done by a Providence hosp in Oregon.

Hi my name is Stephanie Harmon and a friend of mine Tina Saulnier told me about your blog. I just had to share with you an experience I had the weekend before Thanksgiving. Me and 5 others in my family flew to San Diego California as part of Team Piggy to participate in the 3Day 60Mile walk for breast cancer. The San Diego walk alone has raised 9.5million dollars for breast cancer research. You can check out our blog at teampiggy.blogspot.com for what we did and why we walk. I just wanted to tell you that there are so many people out there that may not know you personally but were walking that weekend to help out...in fact there were over 4000 !!! Stay strong and know that others are out there fighting for a cure as you are fighting for your life !!!
Thanks Stephanie! Man, I love this kind of stuff. I'm so glad you shared it with me, thanks for reading my blog and sharing your strength. I LOVE your last line, I'll remember that everyday!

I know you posted this a while ago but I have just now read it and realized there's no backing out now, you listed my name! There aren't many people in my life I would even consider trying this for so you should feel VERY loved.
P.S. If I become addicted to running you are paying for my shoes!LOL
Esther, yes, I feel the love! I thought if I put you on the spot, there would be no way to back out. Good plan, huh? Now the world knows you are committed. You may have to work pretty hard to get me to buy your shoes, though!!
